THE S.H.E.S. SYSTEM

MANIFACTURING COSTS

The adoption of this innovation system represents an increase of the cans total costs, which is less than 5% compared to the existing solutions, for the following reasons:

Dispenser production cost

This cost refers to the average price of the first quarter of 1996 production factors - US cents. 0.4371 - dispenser being built in aluminium with a thickness of 0.3 mm (Aluminium Table) - US cents. 0.3146 - dispenser being built in steel with a thickness of 0.2 mm (Steel Table)

Transportation cost to the packaging plant

The increase of the axial encumbrance of this innovating lid causes an increment of the costs of a maximum of 4.2 times = US cents 0.000474 for a medium-long range stretch (750 Km).

Impact on the bottling plant

This container can be manufctured with only minor and easy changes or additions to the manufacturing lines already developed for the use of the existing lids. However, the effects on the cost of each single lid is absolutely modest.
